Chiringuitos - Beach Bars &
Restaurants
An essential and traditional Spanish experience are the numerous
'chiringuitos' (beach bars & restaurants) that open during the summer months. If you
want to spend the day on the beach, chiringuitos offer sun loungers & parasols and
often provide waiter service to the beach. Some also have play amenities for children.
Generally, their menus are simply split into 'Fish Menu' and 'Meat Menu'. They serve
simple, but fresh fish, seafood and meat dishes, at reasonable prices and they are an
ideal place to soak up the relaxing atmosphere of the local beaches. The following is a

excellent breakfasts and coffees from 7am every day, making the Straw Donkey THE
choice for early risers who work or play near Duquesa - golfers, local folk and
holidaymakers making it their first stop of the day. Lunches and daytime fare have long
been the mainstay, with the emphasis on homemade goodness and fresh ingredients. Try the
Canadian Club Sandwich - it's a meal in itself! Good food, good price and
an entertaining Canadian owner, Will, who by his own admission is a 'little
mad'!
Dine under a canopy of
stars in this enchanted restaurant, where flaming torches and twinkling lights
create a fabulous tropical atmosphere. Their famous whole leg of lamb is served
to your table for you to carve. For the Gladiators among you try 'Brutus's
Buffet', laden with Mediterranean dishes and sizzling specialities from the
barbecue.
Children welcome, safe
adventure play area ... complete with bi-lingual parrots!
