Fuengirola's visitor and animal-friendly zoo has a wide range of species from around the world, maintained in a humane environment. Selwo Aventura is a wonderful nature park set in 100 hectares of land on mountainous terrain. Home to more than 2000 animals from 5 continents, the animals live freely, recreating their natural habitats. Selwo Marina

The telecabina takes you on a 15-minute journey in a four-person cable car right to the highest point on the Malaga coast. At an altitude of almost 800m above sea level you have magnificent views of the Costa del Sol. On a clear day you can see Gibraltar and the coast of Africa.

Cable Ski Marbella is set on a huge natural lake in Guadalmina and offers the latest in water-skiing adventures. This attraction is for those wanting to learn to water-ski, improve their water-skiing, or just for those who want a fun day out. The Hipodromo Costa del Sol features two 25m wide sand tracks of 1700m and 1600m, an athletics track and 2 steeplechase courses, with floodlighting for night racing. There is a 30,000m2 plaza with seating for 2,000 with a direct view of the track and a new grandstand accommodating 5000 spectators. The Hipodromo also offers horse riding lessons for adults and children and facilities to entertain and teach children with special needs.

ANCRAA is the National Association of Breeders of the Andaluz Donkey, which is a not-for-profit organisation that protects this unique species from extinction. The beautiful Giant Andaluz Donkeys are cared for rent-free, on a private finca outside Estepona. The herd at the moment is 19 donkeys, a mixture of youngsters and adults. Visit Margo, the founder of the sanctuary and the donkeys Romero, El Quivir, Serrato, Lola, Pepa, Rosario, Britannia, Marisma, Vulnerada & Vuela Pluma on Sundays from 11am to 2pm for a cuddle!
